Sounds and Scenes Record Store Items
Subject
Ashland City Businesses
Description
A 45 record made by George Morgan in an original store bag of Sounds & Scenes record store. During the 1970s, Ashland City was the home to a record store. As I recall, Sounds & Scenes was operated by Jerry Baker and later the Williams family. They provided the records which were played over the intercom at Cheatham County Central High School on its student radio station WCUB in the morning before classes. Among the DJs at WCUB were Bill A. Jones, now a professional entertainer and Mayor Kerry R. McCarver. Sounds & Scenes was located where Havaday's Barber Shop is presently and later where Dan Cook's offices are now.
